NICHE CARVERS

Hello Everyone,

Remember I promised to bring you some juicy gist about people who have carved a niche for themselves here in naija?  Here we are.

Our first guest does something that a lot of people feel too embarrassed to do, she makes money doing what she loves best - cooking.

Your first thought may be that she probably does not have a university degree, right? Sorry to burst your bubbles, she is a university graduate who decided to do her best with the skills that God has placed in her.

What are you doing with the gifts God has given you? What are you doing with what you know to do? Do you just sit and notice all the faults of other people? It shows that you yearn to right the wrong in that area.

TRUTH REDEFINED

hat is truth? The oxford mini reference dictionary defines truth as the quality of being true or something that is true’. We also have a definition of true as being “in accordance with fact, genuine, exact, accurate, loyal, faithful.” We can deduce from the preceding definitions that facts are what make up truth. COMPLAINING

I have observed that complaining has become the only solution many of us think there is to the challenges around us. We know of fuel scarcity, high cost of living and other challenges we currently have in this nation, but I believe we need to start tapping into other ways of changing our current situation. Complaining constantly is not good for you psychologically, it makes you feel defeated, even when there is something you can do.

Think of ways to carve a niche for yourself as an individual. If we pour as much energy as we do into complaining into ways of helping ourselves, we will live better.

Please note that I am not saying the issues arising are unfounded or that people should not exercise their freedom of expression, I am just saying that I have observed that whatever you focus on, magnifies. Since we know we have the ability to magnify issues by focusing on them, let us try to focus on things that we can harvest from.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be bringing you examples of individuals who have carved a niche for themselves here in Nigeria. Keep your eyes and ears open.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR NEEDS

 attended a training exercise today and guess what? Everyone was talking about trying to explore their creative talents and being unable to go through because of challenges. The most common challenge was finance. The facilitator had to correct the mindset by stating clearly that holding on to the idea that all you need is money is terrible. You may have needs, challenges etc. but money may not be the answer. Keep reading here...
